Event Details

  1. What is Public Space?
  2. What makes a space public?
  3. What is your favorite public space?

At the Venice Biennale in 2016 and again in 2018, APT Architecture asked these and other questions while collecting over 1,100 thoughts regarding the nature of public space from people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and sex—in many languages. The answers could be anonymous or signed, so that people could voice their true thoughts and feelings without being judged. They are sharing their initial results with the Public Architecture committee in the beginning of a synthesis as well as possible avenues for future inquiry.
