The AIANY Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) and the Boston Society of Architects Residential Design Committee are conducting two lunch and learn media workshops to solicit submissions for their 2022/2023 Res Arch Films program, wherein architects, interior designers, and landscape designers present short films to share their unique residential design work. In each of these workshops, participants will review architectural films produced by the winners of the AIANY and BSA Residential Design Awards and AIANY CRAN's Res Arch Now Series. The selected films will cover a broad range of topics, including material selection, construction, structural and environmental challenges, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These workshops will raise awareness of the power of filmmaking to promote good design, share design and material discoveries, advocate for sustainability and conservation, and highlight more inclusive and equitable practices. They will demystify filmmaking and storytelling to encourage others to create their own short films to be presented in future residential design programming by AIANY and BSA.
