In the emergent “normal”, how can mobility thrive and center on just and healthy experiences for everyone? And how can planners and designers stem the costs of a dual crisis? The impact of COVID-19 on transit has left agencies struggling with plummeting ridership and revenues. At the same time, in the street and in professional forums, the social costs of exclusionary practices and barriers to access have become more apparent than ever. "The Transformed City: Mobility Now" will engage perspectives across scales, from an overview of regional transportation networks to a close-up on individual experience of active transportation, inquiring into what constitutes safety, and for whom. Join AIA New York and Center for Architecture for this dialogue on moving forward by developing awareness and approaches to mobility that support health and equity for all.
