As our economy and culture change in response to the COVID-19 crisis, tailored storytelling and visionary thought leadership for architects are more important than ever. Bringing together leading voices in architecture, design journalism, and public relations, "Architectural Storytelling in a Time of Crisis" is a panel discussion on how architects can engage with a broader public during an unprecedented and challenging time. Panelists will share and discuss their processes for building engaging stories around works of architecture and interior design, while navigating a constantly changing environment.

About the Speakers
Julie Lasky is a journalist, editor and critic best known for her writings on design. She has been the deputy editor of The New York Times’s weekly Home section, the editor-in-chief of I.D and Interiors magazines, and the managing editor of Print magazine. She contributes to The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Dwell, Departures, Travel & Leisure, House Beautiful, Landscape Architecture and other publications. She teaches in the graduate industrial design program at Parsons School of Design.

Helene Oberman is Managing Director of Interior Design Media, producing 18 print issues each year, a digital platform reaching a global audience of over 9 million, and a robust events platform. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Helene worked at Sotheby’s prior to joining Interior Design magazine in 2004.

Alexandra Polier is a media and communications expert with more than twenty years of experience. Alex worked as the Director of Communications for both Richard Meier & Partners and Dwell Media prior to opening her own strategic consulting firm DNA in 2015. At DNA, Alex represented leading architecture and design firms, launching New York’s Lowline Lab with RAAD Studio, representing Marvel Architects and their recovering initiatives in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria as well as the NASA-engineered Lighting Science Group’s circadian lighting. Alex is a Board Member of Terreform ONE, a nonprofit architecture and urban design consulting group who aim to combat the extinction of all planetary species through pioneering acts of design. 

For more than 25 years, Tami Hausman has been an expert advisor to top firms in the AEC industry who seek out her insights and knowledge. Hausman creates customized communications strategies to strengthen her clients’ positions in the marketplace and open doors to targeted audiences. In 2008, she founded Hausman LLC, whose clients include national and international architects, related professional services firms, and non-profit organizations. Prior to founding Hausman LLC, Hausman worked in-house for several prestigious architecture firms in New York; her background in marketing and public relations is complemented by graduate studies in architectural history.
